Brand Marketing: Metrics to Love

I love brand marketing, there is nothing quite like making people fall in love with your brand.

I also hold a much broader view of brand marketing. It is not just your ad or just the button colors on your website or just your product packaging.

Branding is the feeling that results from a human’s interaction with every manifestation of your existence: Company + Product + People.

How Communications Can Change Brand Perception

As most people experience at some point in their lives, I’ve been judged and measured by people’s outdated perceptions of me, based on who I was 20 years ago, 10 years ago, five years ago. It’s human nature to do so. But, of course, I’m not that exact same person I was. My core values and characteristics remain but I’ve evolved, which I consider a good thing. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be growing.

Know When to Focus on Innovation Instead of Disruption

Disruption as we think of it today is Uber and AirBnB looking at inefficient, clunky, and expensive ways of doing things and completely replacing them using technology as the enabler. And this is fine by me, no complaints about having an easier, more affordable way to get around, or less costly place to stay in a new city, but, not all circumstances require disruption to bring in new value to existing users and behaviours. Innovation is powerful, positive, and in many cases essential, but it does not mean we need to compete directly with incumbent ways of doing things to be successful.
