How Communications Can Change Brand Perception

As most people experience at some point in their lives, I’ve been judged and measured by people’s outdated perceptions of me, based on who I was 20 years ago, 10 years ago, five years ago. It’s human nature to do so. But, of course, I’m not that exact same person I was. My core values and characteristics remain but I’ve evolved, which I consider a good thing. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be growing.

Know When to Focus on Innovation Instead of Disruption

Disruption as we think of it today is Uber and AirBnB looking at inefficient, clunky, and expensive ways of doing things and completely replacing them using technology as the enabler. And this is fine by me, no complaints about having an easier, more affordable way to get around, or less costly place to stay in a new city, but, not all circumstances require disruption to bring in new value to existing users and behaviours. Innovation is powerful, positive, and in many cases essential, but it does not mean we need to compete directly with incumbent ways of doing things to be successful.

The Habits of Highly Successful Entrepreneurs

Success isn’t granted, but rather it comes from a set of habits honed over the years to propel you forward. Adhering to a strict schedule, reading, making time for exercise, and having a positive mindset are all crucial to your ongoing success.

A spokeswoman for the Seattle-based online retailer told CNET on Thursday that the website has begun adding Spanish. The shifts in thinking that successful organisations will be in 2017

As the year starts to wind down, I like to immerse myself in the thinking that I believe should shape the coming year. My take on #BigIdea2017 is that more organisations will look to actively make their people the engine that drives not only the operational elements of the business, but also its growth, development and adaptation. In 2017, I believe we will see a fundamental move away from getting our people to engage in what the business values to valuing what our people have to offer the business.
